The Heroic organization will have a change of the squad after the end of ESWC 2025, but according to the new update rules of Valve Ranking System (VRS), the team will still retain the entire ranking score. This is the first clear example showing how new changes in the score rules are applied.

From TN1R to xfl0ud

After ESWC, Heroic will replace TN1R by Turkish gunmen XFL0UD, retaining the remaining members including: Alkarenn, Nilo, LNZ, YXNGSTXR and XFL0UD. This means that 4/5 players in the squad remain the same - the key element in Valve Regional Standings (VRS).

As a rule, all previous matches of the team are still calculating the VRS point if at least three players in the new team have participated in those matches. This is also the reason that Heroic brought XFL0UD back: his presence ensures the necessary squad ratio, helping the team keep the entire score.

Why not deducted points

The current law stipulates that the new squad must have at least three players who played the previous official matches to hold the VRS score. Heroic meets this condition - even after changing personnel, at least three names in the new squad have participated in every previous match. As a result, Heroic retains the rank, even if there is a replacement.

Showing on the rankings?

The new feature of the VRS algorithm is that the lineup in the rankings will not be updated right after the first match of the new squad, but only changes when the team has played at least 5 official matches.

This means that in the ranking on September 1, Heroic is likely to be listed with the squad: Alkarenn, Nilo, LNZ, YXNGSTXR, TN1R - although they played a few matches with XFL0UD.

In August, Heroic only attended the Open blast, up to 4 matches if they went from the losing branch, so they would not have to reach 5 matches before the ranking date.

This situation is completely contrary to the previous "FAZE case" - the cause of changing the law. Now, the VRS rankings may continue to display the "old" squad even though the new team has played officially.
