Blast publishes the list of teams participating in Rivals S1

Vitality, Mouz and Spirit will return to Blast Studios in Copenhagen.


Blast has announced the list of eight teams that will attend Rivals Season 1.

Initially scheduled to be held in Monterrey, the tournament was transferred to Blast Studios in Copenhagen, where the OPEN group stage took place and Bounty's strongest eight teams.

The tournament uses Global invitation charts on March 3, with five of the top six teams attending after The Mongolz rejected the invitation.

Another remarkable name is also absent is Liquid, the top of the North American and Asian rankings on March 3.

However, Vitality, Mouz and Spirit both confirmed to participate, along with Faze (5th in the world) and Falcons (Wildcard in Europe).

The remaining three Wildcard belongs to Pain, Wildcard and Flyquest, invited from the corresponding areas.

If Liquid and The Mongolz rejected the invitation, the regional Wildcard teams were chosen based on the regional rankings on March 3.

Rivals is considered the successor to the World Final, with eight teams, two GSL groups, and the six team play-off rounds.

When Blast announced the original format, the plan was inviting the eight strongest teams in the world. However, new rules from Valve have made the event re -defined into a Wildcard tournament with four teams invited to the world rankings and four regional Wildcard teams.
