karrigan's team will have an exciting match with NAVI in the semi-finals.
FaZe easily overcame Liquid at the Forum
FaZe had a devastating performance, defeating Liquid in just 2 maps to advance to the semi-finals at BLAST Premier Fall Final.
This is a rematch of the tense match at IEM Cologne, where FaZe made a stunning comeback from 11-1 down on the deciding map. However, this time Liquid did not perform well and FaZe were superior in every aspect in the series that lasted less than an hour and a half.
It was the fearsome playoff performance that FaZe is often known for, and it will make Natus Vincere wary ahead of Saturday's semi-finals.
"I don't remember the last time we played this well" Finn "karrigan" Andersen said in his post-match interview. "When we play like this... I really love playing with this team."
The first phase of Inferno was quite tense, with both teams unable to gain the upper hand. FaZe then took control of the match and ended the first half with a score of 8-4 — a result that would have been even more lopsided had Justin "jks" Savage not saved two consecutive rounds brilliantly, including includes an ace phase in the retake stage at site A.
Håvard "rain" Nygaard then helped FaZe stay in the game with 3 kills in the pistol round. FaZe quickly reached map point, and although Liquid tried to fight back, it was too late.
FaZe continued their momentum on Mirage and, like in Cologne, they led 11-1 in the CT half. Everything went so easily that Robin "ropz" Kool used AWP and quickly scored an ace, causing the casters and crowd at the Forum to cheer in excitement.
But unlike that day in Cologne, this time there was no comeback in the second half. Liquid could only win 2 rounds on defense, and FaZe quickly ended the match and booked their ticket to the semi-finals.
"Playing this game was a real joy," karrigan said. "I hope we can continue this form into tomorrow's match against the best team in the world."
