The incident leading to this decision most likely happened in game 5 of the match between HEROIC and beastcoast at the South American qualifying final of ESL One Bangkok 2024.

Brazilian Dota 2 team, HEROIC, announced on Wednesday (November 20) that they have placed carry player David Nicho "Parker" Flores on the reserve list due to "lack of desire to win" during an incident at The South American qualifying final of ESL One Bangkok 2024 takes place on Monday (November 18).

HEROIC said in a statement that the decision to place Parker on the reserve list was made after "disagreements over team tactics led to Parker demonstrating a lack of desire to win, which was inconsistent with professional standards to which HEROIC adheres."

Although HEROIC did not detail the incident that led to this decision, it is likely related to the final stages of game 5 in the match against beastcoast in the South American qualifying final.

In the decisive moments of the match, both HEROIC and beastcoast used multiple buybacks as they fought for control of Roshan, which could determine the outcome of the match. However, just as beastcoast tried to steal Roshan from HEROIC, Parker (playing Medusa) left the Roshan Pit area to push beastcoast mid. As a result, beastcoast won the Aegis of the Immortal, took out the remaining HEROIC members, and ultimately won the series.

HEROIC said they are willing to discuss transferring Parker to other teams and will compete with Yuma "Yuma" Langlet as a replacement at the Dota 2 BLAST Slam I tournament from November 26 to December 1.

"We recognize Parker's talent and significant contributions to the team, but this pattern of unprofessional behavior, including previous incidents, is unacceptable to us," HEROIC emphasized. .

Parker's placement on the reserve list comes just over a month after HEROIC won PGL Wallachia Season 2, marking the first international tournament won by a South American team in Dota 2 history. Note, this is also Parker's first LAN with HEROIC after joining the team in September. He played excellently in his LAN debut, especially in the final against Team Falcons.

However, this is not the first time Parker has suddenly left a team due to disagreements regarding professional standards and commitment. In January 2023, Parker himself left Infinity after being informed by the team that he would be his replacement. Infinity's decision was made due to "lack of commitment to teammates and employees."
