NertZ shined for HEROIC on Dust2 with a 2.37 index

HEROIC won the right to enter the final of Thunderpick World Championship 2024 after defeating OG 2-0 in the semi-finals held in Berlin, Germany.

Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski's team entered the Thunderpick World Championship Finals as the top-ranked team, after easily overcoming Legacy, Ninjas in Pajamas and fnatic in the online phase to qualify for the four-team LAN round. .

HEROIC is trying to maintain a steady streak of results at LAN tournaments, including a semi-final appearance at IEM Rio and a runner-up finish at Elisa Masters Espoo, in preparation for Perfect World's RMR Shanghai Major in two weeks' time.

While HEROIC is looking at this tournament as a stepping stone before RMR, OG entered Berlin with an unstable roster, using Jakub "M1key" Krausko from UNiTY after benching Bram "Nexius" Campana in late October.

Due to not qualifying for the RMR Shanghai Major, Maciej "F1KU" Miklas and his teammates do not have any other LAN matches scheduled in 2024 after stopping at the Thunderpick World Championship.

The semi-finals kicked off on Dust2, HEROIC's map pick, with the score 8-4 in their favor in the attack, albeit interrupted by a technical delay.

Even though OG won the second pistol round, HEROIC immediately responded with a force-buy, putting them back in control of the match. With an excellent performance from Guy "NertZ" Iluz and an impressive 2.37 index, HEROIC prevented OG from turning the game around and ending the map with a score of 13-8.

OG were somewhat fresher on their Ancient pick, with a 5-2 start but were quickly leveled 6-6 when switching sides. Although HEROIC won the second pistol round, OG still competed fiercely in the defensive round but ultimately collapsed in the decisive moments as HEROIC won 13-11 on Ancient, closing the match with a final score. 2-0.
