Samuel "Boxi" Swan, the player of the Liquid team, expressed his dissatisfaction with the Riyadh Masters 2025 tournament without a losing branch, saying this was against the development process of teams throughout the tournament.

He shared in a video posted on YouTube:

"I really don't like the loss of the losing branch. Because in my opinion, most of the tournaments are designed for you to gain experience and learn more during the competition. At least to us, it works like that."

Riyadh Masters 2025 applies the format of the first one after the group stage - that is, the teams will be excluded immediately if they lose a match, and no chance to return with the losing branch as in traditional tournaments.

A part of the DOTA 2 community actively evaluated this format because the tournament was more intense and more attractive. However, many professional players disagree because they lack the opportunity to correct, especially for teams that need time to catch up.

📌 Before that, Samuel "Boxi" Swan was also honored as the MVP of Team Liquid at Riyadh Masters 2025.
