President T1 continues to cause controversy

In an interview with Nexexus, CEO of T1 - Mr. Joe Marsh - continued to attract attention when revealing a lot of shocking information related to the T1 team. The prominent content revolves around two recent incidents: the Zeus transfer deal and the gunner position competition between Smash and Gumayusi.

After the World Championship 2024, T1 continuously faced many internal issues. The first is the failure to extend the contract with the Zeus player, leading to a lot of controversy and conflicts surrounding him leaving the team. At the beginning of the 2025 season, the fan community continued to criticize T1 for saying that the "injustice" organization with Gumayusi and the young Smash player.
Although the two events gradually subsided, but in the interview lasting more than an hour with Nexxus, Joe Marsh continued to "storm" public opinion. He shared his personal opinion in the management philosophy of T1 in particular and the electronic sports industry in general. T1 CEO also emphasized the academy training system, efforts in protecting the players, the financial situation as well as the challenges that the organization has experienced.

However, the most interested fans are still sharing directly related to the players. Regarding Zeus's case, Mr. Joe said: "No need to continue talking about Zeus and his representative anymore. Everything has been carefully investigated. I love Zeus - he is an important part of T1, and I hope he will achieve much success."


In the case of Gumayusi and Smash, Joe explained that the team needs time to adjust the role of the gunner due to the change in the top line. He said T1 now has a top player to be resistant, so the lower route needs to take on the role of causing key damage.

However, Joe Marsh's statements continued to encounter a wave of criticism from the community. Fans asked him to publicly apologize for the previous statements related to Zeus, instead of "avoiding responsibility". Besides, some comments that Joe "lack of knowledge about the game" and "insulting Doran and Gumayusi".

T1 will close the 1-2 round of LCK Spring 2025 this weekend, with the match against NS Redforce taking place on May 30. Currently, the team is sure the third rank in the group stage and will enter the selection round to attend MSI 2025 with the teams: Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, NS Redforce, KT Rolster and Dplus.
