Vitality had to fight hard in the decisive match that lasted up to three extra time to maintain a 21-match win, winning 3-2 in Australia.

Vitality lifted the trophy in Melbourne and officially completed the Grand Slam.

Vitality defeated Falcons 3-2 in the IEM Melbourne final to raise the trophy in Australia and close the Season 5 of ESL Grand Slam, the title they achieved after the victories at IEM Cologne 2024, IEM Katowice 2025, ESL Pro League Season 21 and IEM Melbourne 2025.

On the opposite side, Falcons missed the chance to win two consecutive champions after the victory at PGL Bucharest - where they still had Abdul "degster" Gasanov took on the main AWP role - and will have to wait for the first title with Ilya "m0nesy" Osipov in the squad.

The two teams met in the branch final on Group B to identify the seeds into the Playoff, and Falcons showed the resilience even though Vitality surpassed both maps, with a long match to extra time in Mirage and the 13-8 victory on Inferno.

The final rematch started on Inferno, and once again Vitality easily owned the game when Falcons could not resist Mathieu "zywoo" Herbaut and his teammates.
Many clutch situations and close rounds belong to Vitality, and Falcons almost had no chance, when M0nesy recorded the fifth map of the fifth in his career with a loss of 2-13.

The series moved to Dust2, where Vitality started strongly with a score of 4-0 on the CT side and seemed to continue the destructive form. However, Falcons had taken up with sharp A plays, making good use of Long and Short, winning the next 7/8 Round to lead in half of the match.

The match continued to struggle to extra time, but Falcons exploded with the guidance of Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski and René "teses" Madsen, wipe out 4-0 in Overtime to win 16-12, and take away Vitality's first map in Melbourne.

Returning to a forte map, Vitality was determined to prove that the defeat on Dust2 was just an accident, but their beginning was not easy. Falcons lead 5-1 on the CT of Train before Dan "apex" Madesclaire and his teammates shorten the distance to two rounds in half of the match.

Despite being led 8-9 after losing two consecutive 3VS5 situations, APEX asked the whole team to improve the spirit, and Vitality responded, winning the full Eco Round and completely turned the game to end the map with a score of 13-9, when Falcons could not get up after that shock.

Falcons entered Mirage with the goal of balancing the series, winning the first 5 rounds. However, the sublimation momentum was quickly blocked when Vitality region won the last 6/7 round of the first half to balance the score.

The return in the first half and the strong start in the second half of Vitality is mainly thanks to the excellent competition of William "meziii" Merriman, but M0nesy led Falcons in resilient defensive phases, helping them win 13-10 and put the match into the decisive map.

Falcons played extremely firmly on Nuke's CT, only for Vitality to win 3 rooms scattered throughout the half of the match and create a tense atmosphere on the field.

An extremely important Round Pistol was won by APEX and teammates, but after losing to Bonus Round and led 5-10, Vitality was forced to use the third Timeout.
Powerfully in the wall, Robin "Ropz" Kool failed in the 1vs1 phase before Kyxsan when he was lured by a delicate bomb, helping Falcons achieve match point.

At this time, the victory seemed to belong to Falcons, but Vitality suddenly won six rounds to pull the match into extra time, and the performance then took place at extremely fast pace, causing the audience at Rod Laver Arena to explode after a rather boring playoff.

Clutches, remove bombs in Smoke and heart -pounding situations that last to the last round of extra time. But in the end, even the performance of more than 40 Teses's networks was not enough to help Falcons overcome when Vitality broke the game, won the final 22-20, closed a classic final.

ZYWOO, with 1.34 rating in the series, plays a key role for Vitality in the decision map, and is the player with the highest rating of the final and the tournament, thereby receiving HLTV's MVP medal.
