Tournament organizers said they had received 'conflicting information' regarding the situation.

BLAST's decision to allow Astralis to use cadiaN as an emergency substitute has been met with a wave of criticism

BLAST has announced that it has requested the ESIC to conduct a 'formal investigation' regarding Astralis' emergency substitution request for the BLAST Premier Fall Final. This request came after Astralis ended their run at the Fall Final, where they were eliminated from the tournament in a tie for last place.

The notice states that the matter is 'a constantly changing situation' and 'conflicting information' has been submitted to BLAST. 'We have held what we hope are final discussions with Astralis and the player's representatives over the past few days to clarify the situation, but as a result both sides have expressed their views different,' BLAST's statement said. Although not stated, it can be speculated that Alexander 'br0' Bro and his representatives are the subjects referred to in this statement.

The situation started when Astralis announced the signing of Casper 'cadiaN' Møller and said his first matches for the team would take place at BLAST Fall Final, despite the deadline to submit a team roster Pictures for this event were over 2 weeks before he signed the contract. HLTV conducted an investigation into this matter and discovered that BLAST had sent an email to the teams participating in the event, stating that they had approved the emergency addition of 1 player to Astralis' roster due to medical emergency' of one of their players.

br0's representative later stated via X that his client was not experiencing any health issues, and was in fact 'perfectly healthy and ready to compete.' HLTV spoke with representatives of the other three teams participating in the Fall Final, who expressed doubts about Astralis' request for an emergency replacement.

The captains of the 7 teams participating in the Fall Final, excluding Astralis, then staged a protest against BLAST's decision to allow emergency substitutions, all of whom signed an open letter to BLAST and 6 of the teams. Some of them were absent from Fall Final's media day.

Under pressure from the public, BLAST stated that they had 'no reason to doubt Astralis' initial announcement.' However, it appears that BLAST has changed their stance on the matter, based on discussions with Astralis and br0 representatives as well as their request to ESIC.
