Information of CS2 at Esports World Cup 2025

Following the success of 2024, Esports World Cup will continue to organize Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) by 2025. Accordingly, 16 teams will play live to find the champion.
The Organizing Committee of Esports World Cup has officially announced the FPS of Valve - CS2 - will continue to appear at this event in the next 3 years, at least until the end of 2027. At this year's event, CS2 will play from August 20-24 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with a total bonus of US $ 1.25 million, up 250,000 USD compared to last year.

In terms of formula, the number of teams participating in the tournament increased from 15 to 16 teams, the same way to choose a new team. Previously, the teams won the attendance through the tournaments and qualifiers combined with invited tickets. However, by 2025, 15 teams will be invited through Valve's ranking, the other team will win tickets from the Asian qualifying tournament.
The teams are also divided into live pairs, instead of the old competition format. Accordingly, on the first day, the round of 16 teams will play, the 2nd match of the remaining two matches of the round of 16 teams and two quarterfinals. By the 3rd, playing the remaining two quarterfinals, the 4th day were two semi -finals and the last day was the final.

In 2024, the event was surprised with the new formula: the group stage had two rounds, 14 teams divided into 7 pairs, the winning team would win the right to go on. Meanwhile, the losing teams will join the representative of the BO1 qualifying round to find the last team to play-off. Finally, the quarterfinals will take place as usual.
In the tournament last year, Natus Vincere became the champion after defeating G2 Esports 2-1 in the final. Despite winning the championship, Navi will not be able to attend the event like the T1 of the League of Legends, but will hold the position in the top 15 Valve's rankings to win tickets to invite directly to the event in August.
