PGL adjusts the bonus system after the top teams refuse to play

PGL has adjusted the bonus system before PGL Bucharest 2025, taking place on April 5.
Earlier, PGL paid a fixed amount to organizations, which made many leading clubs unhappy. Therefore, PGL decided to apply the system like ESL and Blast, where the organizers deploy a reward system for clubs, helping the tournament become more attractive.
The reason for this change is because the teams have refused to participate in the previous PGL tournament in Cluj-Napoca. Spirit, Navi, Vitality and G2 do not attend. To avoid the same situation in the future and attract top teams, PGL has reviewed and adjusted their policies.
At the upcoming PGL Bucharest 2025, Navi and Spirit continued to refuse to join because their academy team was only invited to the closed qualifying round. This has motivated PGL to revise the bonus system to attract strong teams in the future, increase viewers and improve tournament revenue.
PGL Bucharest 2025 will take place from 6 to 13 April in Bucharest, Romania. 16 teams will compete with a total prize worth $ 625,000 for teams and similar amounts for organizations.
