The Organizing Committee of the EU Series 18 CCT tournament unexpectedly changed the list of invited teams, on the grounds that the "incorrect version of the VRS list." CCT is one of the biggest tournaments for CS2, attracting many secondary teams who are aspiring to rise first. Error in the invitation process can affect the preparation of the participating teams and ask questions about the transparency of the organizers.

What happened?

In the process of sending the invitation to the EU Series 18 CCT tournament, an outdated version of the VRS ranking was used as a basis for selecting the participating team. Upon discovering this error, the Organizing Committee adjusted the list of teams invited based on the latest updated data as of January 6, 2025.


New invitation list
After fixing errors, the Organizing Committee updated the list of teams participating in different stages of the tournament:

Play-in: Favbet Team, Copenhagen Wolves, Amkal, Zero Tenance, Cyberhoke, Aurora, Unity, Adventurers, Alaska, Iberian Soul, Rush B, Apogee, Kono, Alliance, OG Esports, NIP.


Groups: Fnatic, Monte, Sinners, Chimera, Ecstatic, BC.Game, Gun5, Navi Junior, GTZ Esports, 9ine, 500, Sashi.


Playoffs Round: Dynamo Eclot, 9 Pandas, Nemiga, Partizan Esports, B8, Passion UA, ENCE, NEXUS.


These changes can cause the teams to be removed from the first list of dissatisfaction, due to errors from the organizers. However, timely adjustment also shows that CCT is trying to maintain transparency and accuracy in selecting the participating team. The tournament will start with the update list, and now, fans are waiting to see how this will affect the final results.
