Fly returns to Europe after last competing in the region with OG in 2018.
Famous Dota 2 captain Tal “Fly” Aizik has officially returned to competing in Europe after more than seven years to join German organization MOUZ for the upcoming FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade 2025 qualifiers.
MOUZ announced that the squad is still in testing as they prepare for the 2025 season, so more roster changes will be coming soon. However, for the upcoming FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade qualifiers, MOUZ's squad list is confirmed as follows:
Lasha “Nande” Narsia
Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha
Tobias “Tobi” Buchner (replacement)
Thiago “Thiolicor” Cordeiro
Tal “Fly” Aizik
Fly left North America to return to Europe
It's been a while since we've seen Fly lead a European team. After his tenure with OG ended in May 2018, the Israeli did not stay in the region, instead pursuing stints in North America and, briefly , Southeast Asia.
Fly led Evil Geniuses (EG) from 2018 to 2022, then moved to Shopify Rebellion along with other former EG players Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop, Jonáš “SabeRLighT-” Volek and Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen. During his time with EG and Shopify Rebellion, the team led by Fly dominated the North American arena but struggled in international tournaments. This dismal streak of results eventually led to roster changes, with Fly leaving the team in November 2023 along with Abed and Cr1t.
Fly's most recent team was Nouns Esports, although the organization left the Dota 2 scene in November and the squad temporarily played under the name Atlantic City before parting ways. After disbanding, Fly returns to the European competitive scene to join MOUZ, with a big event right in front of them!
MOUZ is now preparing for the next big event, FISSURE PLAYGROUND Belgrade 2025. The team will participate in the Western European Closed Qualifiers from December 18 to 22.
Although no major opponents have been confirmed yet, we can expect MOUZ to face mostly second-tier Western European teams in the qualifiers. The winning team will qualify for the main event, with 16 teams and millions of dollars in prizes.
Can this new lineup led by Fly make it through?
