The former Nigma Galaxy member squad continues to dominate the women's CS scene with another LAN title.
Imperial fe won its eighth consecutive ESL Impact LAN championship after defeating FURIA fe 2-1 in the final of Season 6 Finals, held in Stockholm.
The squad under the guidance of Victoria "tory" Kazieva did not lose any match in the Swedish capital on the journey to the championship. This is the second title they have won since joining Brazilian outfit Imperial fe in May.
Not unexpected, Ana "ANa" Dumbravă, who twice received the Best Female Player of the Year award (2022 and 2023), continued to shine with the highest rating in the tournament of 1.34. However, in the finals, she did not play too prominently, leaving the leading role to tory and Katarína "Kat" Vašková.
This was also Kamen "bubble" Kostadinov's first tournament as head coach of Imperial fe, after he replaced Reinis "hyskeee" Grīnbergs at the beginning of the month.
In the group stage in Stockholm, Imperial fe took the lead with Bo1 wins over NAVI Javelins and Fluxo Demons, then beat BIG EQUIPA 2-1 in a series that was easier than the result showed. However, it was only in the final that they faced a real challenge when FURIA fe proved to be an unpleasant opponent.
The Brazilian team, who missed the finals in Dallas six months ago, opened up a lead in the series and almost made it happen in the second map after falling behind 0-7. However, they fell at the final hurdle. On the Dust2 map, the Imperial fe's superior experience once again became the deciding factor. They won an eco round 8-7 thanks to a quad-kill from Alexandra "twenty3" Timonina, before dominating and ending the match.
"FURIA played amazing," Kat said after the final. "It was a tough game and very memorable. Very competitive. We really enjoyed ourselves and gave it our all in these games."
