Wildcard, MIBR, Liquid and seven teams won tickets to the CS2 Shanghai Major through the American RMR qualifiers

Four of the seven teams that won tickets to the Shanghai Major through the American RMR qualifiers are from Brazil.

Seven other teams have officially won tickets to the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 tournament after the American Regional Major Ranking (RMR) event ended on Friday, November 15.

Teams Wildcard Gaming, MIBR, Team Liquid, compLexity Gaming, paiN Gaming, Imperial Esports, and FURIA Esports bested 16 teams from North and South America over four days of competition to advance to the Opening Stage of the Shanghai Major. .

The American RMR event applies the Swiss system competition format, with 16 teams competing. Seven teams won the right to advance by winning at least three matches. All participating teams must play at least two best-of-one (Bo1) matches before entering the decisive best-of-three (Bo3) matches.


How teams win tickets to attend the Shanghai Major:


Wildcard, MIBR, Liquid lead the US region at the Shanghai Major
Wildcard was the biggest surprise at American RMR, when they won tickets to the Shanghai Major with the leading position after three absolute wins.

    They opened with a 16-12 victory over Liquid on the Inferno map, then overcame paiN 13-10 on the Nuke map.
    In the deciding match, Wildcard defeated 9z with a score of 2-0 (16-14 on Nuke and 13-6 on Inferno) to officially win a ticket to the Major.

MIBR also has the perfect itinerary at American RMR:
    They beat KRÜ Esports 13-5 on Vertigo, edged Imperial 13-9 on Nuke, and beat compLexity 2-0 (13-9 on Nuke, 13-11 on Vertigo).

Liquid, after losing to Wildcard in the first round, had to go through four rounds to win tickets:
    They beat KRÜ 13-2 on Ancient, then took down BESTIA 13-4 on Anubis.
    In the deciding match against FURIA, Liquid won 2-1 (13-7 on Inferno).

CompLexity started strong with two wins over BESTIA and BOSS, but were knocked out by MIBR in round three. They won tickets to round four after beating M80 2-0 (13-8 on Anubis and 13-9 on Vertigo).


    PaiN also needed four rounds to pass. They beat Nouns, lost to Wildcard, then took down Imperial and 9z to win the ticket.


    Imperial and FURIA won the final two tickets after victories in round five. The European RMR event will run until November 24, with 14 other teams vying for tickets. The Shanghai Major officially begins on November 30 and ends on December 15, with 24 teams competing for a total prize pool of $1.25 million and the chance to participate in the second Major CS2.
