nawwk got a second chance at the Shanghai Major after being loaned to fnatic

fnatic and Tim "⁠nawwk⁠" Jonasson had a good LAN debut, as the European team topped Group B to soon qualify for the play-offs.

nawwk only joined BLEED in May, but left the team after just four months after the team failed to make it to the RMR qualifiers. He moved to fnatic on a six-month loan last month, deciding to leave long-time teammate Joakim "⁠jkaem⁠" Myrbostad for a chance to participate in the upcoming Shanghai Major qualifiers.

After inconsistent online results since switching teams, fnatic arrived in Belgrade with the goal of proving themselves and impressed with wins over PARIVISION and nawwk's former team, now playing under the name UNPAID.

While at the top of their group, nawwk and his teammates had a day off and the Swedish player opened up to HLTV about BLEED, Aleksandar "⁠kassad⁠" Trifunović and his form since leaving Apeks.

Congratulations on making it to the play-offs. You started well on the first map, as you did on the second and third maps, but ended up losing. What happened?

We had a very good plan going into the match, especially on defense (CT side). We really played well, took good positions on the map and got the first kills when needed. However, when they switched to attack (T side), they won the first round and that gave them momentum. We played a bit scared, but that's what happened. We're just regrouping for the next two maps.

You made it to the play-offs at RES. This is your first LAN event with fnatic, how important is this to you?

It feels really great. For me, joining a new team where I didn't know anyone was not easy. So I tried to get familiar with their system, how they play and find comfort. Things are getting better and better, and I think we're going to play better and better and be able to do things.

I want to ask about BLEED. You didn't stay there for very long, so how did the move to fnatic come about?

Before joining fnatic, you said you had a difficult few months, what did you mean?

Things don't really click with BLEED's lineup. We have five players who are good on paper, but in reality they are not. My personal performance has dropped compared to my time at Apeks. It was a difficult time for everyone. We couldn't find stability in our gameplay.

What is your impression of kassad's leadership and management style?

He is a good coach. He understands the game and brings a lot to the training sessions. However, he is somewhat rigid and wants things to go his way. But I don't have anything bad to say about him, it's just that things don't match up with the players.

You are on loan to fnatic. With BLEED's current situation, do you feel more comfortable playing under another team or are you worried about how this will affect you?

Right now, I don't even know what's going on on BLEED's side. We just wait and see what happens.

Given your performance in the group stage, do you feel more confident about how you will play?

I think I will play better at each subsequent event. Now we have another day of practice, maybe add some small details, so we'll see.
