This international team advanced to its first final since before the summer break.

siuhy's team kept the Farmasi Arena quiet in their semi-final.

The second semi-final of IEM Rio 2024 has ended, with MOUZ winning over crowd favorite FURIA with an overwhelming score of 2-0, earning the right to play in the BO5 final with Natus Vincere.

This is the second meeting between MOUZ and FURIA in Rio de Janeiro, as Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's team previously won 2-1 in the upper bracket semi-finals of Group A.

"We felt like we controlled the game from start to finish," MOUZ sniper Ádám "torzsi" Torzsás said in the post-match interview. "At first, we were a little nervous to play in front of this audience, but in the end, we kept our composure and won."

"Lifting this trophy will be very meaningful for the team and the organization, and we will do it, I'm sure. I think the match against NAVI will be very interesting and close, especially in the series BO5. We'll make sure we show up and play well."

Despite the loss, FURIA still left IEM Rio 2024 with one of its best results in recent memory, having beaten three top opponents to secure a semi-final spot. Before that, the last time FURIA reached the semi-finals of a major event was nearly two years ago, at Rio Major 2022.

MOUZ are also enjoying one of their best results in recent months, after struggling to reach the finals, with their last final appearance coming in mid-May at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade.

The first map of the series was Nuke, chosen by FURIA, where the Brazilian team won the opening pistol round but could not convert it into a victory thanks to MOUZ's successful gun buy. FURIA only won one more round thanks to a quick attack into zone A, but that was all they could do in the first half of the match.

FURIA won the second pistol round after switching sides, but again failed to convert into a victory, with MOUZ quickly regaining the advantage and winning the map chosen by FURIA.

MOUZ's Mirage map played out in a similar manner as FURIA only won three rounds in its defensive half. A pistol round victory by MOUZ put an end to the series, as the European team cruised to victory 13-3.
