The MSI 2025 will have the presence of the 10 best LOL teams in the world, scrambling for a prize from the total prize fund of 2 million USD and a capacity to attend Worlds 2025.

The League of Legends (LOL) Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) will be held at Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada from June 27 to July 12, according to the announcement from Riot Games on Thursday (March 20). This year's version of the second international tournament in the annual Esports Lol schedule will also have the largest total prize in MSI history, up to 2 million USD.

MSI 2025 will gather two teams from each region in the five regional tournaments of LOL, including South Korea, China, Europe, Asia -Pacific and the Americas. The teams will compete for the MSI 2025 championship title and a place directly attending the World Final (Worlds) LOL this year. The two areas with the best achievement at MSI 2025 will also be granted an additional capacity to attend Worlds.

The MSI 2025 will continue LOL First Stand 2025 - the first international tournament in the Esports Lol schedule in 2025, where Hanwha Life Esports of Korea won the championship.

Formula, qualifying and MSI 2025

Although Riot Games has not fully announced the details of the MSI 2025, the tournament is expected to apply the same format as last year. The 10 teams will be divided into two groups, starting in the Play-in Stage or the group stage (Bracket Stage), of which 4 teams starting from the boot round, and 6 teams will go straight to the group stage.

The teams participating in the MSI 2025 boot round will include:

Runner -up LOL European Championship (LEC) Spring Split of Europe

Runner -up LOL Championship Pacific (LCP) Split 2 of Asia - Pacific region

LOL Championship of the Americas (LTA) South Split 2 of the Americas

Meanwhile, the teams in the group stage will include:

Two teams leading the MSI qualifying round of LOL Champions Korea (LCK) of Korea

Champions Champions LPL, LCP and LTA North Split 2

LEC Spring Split Championship

The starting round will take place in the GSL format, where the four teams will play to find two teams with the best achievement (2-0 and 2-1) to win the right in the group stage. After that, eight teams in the group stage will play in the formula of the winning branch - the branch lost.

All matches at the MSI 2025 will be the Bo5 (5 games to win 3) and use the Fearless Draft mechanism, which Riot Games has confirmed will apply in the entire Esports LOL 2025 season.
