Rumors: Fearless Draft will be maintained until the end of 2025

Riot Games intends to keep the Fearless Draft format for all official League of Legends tournaments in the rest of 2025. This format prohibits the selection of generals in the same match. It will continue to be applied in tournaments such as LEC, LCK, LPL, LTA and LCP, as well as in international tournaments such as MSI and Worlds. This information is shared by the news portal Sheep Esports.

Initially, Fearless Draft was tested in the early stages of the 2025 season and received positive feedback from the community. According to a survey, 90% of the 14,000 participants supported the continued use of this format.

In LEC's Winter Playoff round, the application of Fearless Draft does not lead to a significant increase in the total number of chosen generals, but it has significantly reduced the frequency of the most popular generals. This trend is also recorded by Flora "Arailla" Parmentier, former Astralis analyst.

For example, Azir - the most sought -after general in the winter playoffs 2024 and 2025 - was selected 23 times in 2024 but only 13 times in 2025, despite appearing in 14 series.

Riot Games believes that the return of Fearless Draft will help increase the diversity in choosing champions and tactics in the professional arena, while having a positive impact on the development of the game. Last month, the company also withdrew the decision to remove the Hextech chest from the game after receiving negative feedback from the community.
