Team Spirit welcomes back three former members, although this reunion comes with a difficult decision.

On Monday (January 6), Team Spirit made an exciting announcement about its 2025 Dota 2 roster. Specifically, three legendary names Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk (carry), Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov (offlane) and coach Airat “Silent” Gaziev, who have temporarily stopped playing professionally after The International (TI) 2024, Team Spirit officially returns to Dota 2 lineup.

Team Spirit's 2025 Dota 2 roster:

1. Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk
2. Denis “Larl” Sigitov
3. Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov
4. Aleksandr “rue” Filin
5. Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov
6. Airat “Silent” Gaziev (coach)

The return of Collapse and Silent was not unexpected, as both had planned to rest until the beginning of the new year. During their absence, Abdimalik “Malik`” Sailau temporarily took on the offlaner position, while Alexander “Accell” Litvinenko took on the role of coach.

Yatoro returned after an indefinite break, Satanic was placed on the bench

Unlike his two teammates, Yatoro's return was a big surprise, even for Team Spirit itself. Just three months ago, this young Ukrainian player announced that he had lost his motivation to play and decided to take an indefinite break.

To fill that void, Team Spirit has placed its trust in young talent Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov. Over the past few months, Satanic has quickly emerged as a shining star, becoming an important element of the team. However, when Yatoro was ready to play again, Spirit was forced to make a difficult decision.

Team manager, Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov, shared:

“[Yatoro] is back with us. He didn't plan for that, but it happened. Yatoro's quick return was a surprise to us, and we had to make a difficult choice. That choice was made for a more experienced and mature player, for a legend in the organization.”

With Yatoro regaining his carry position, Satanic was placed on the bench. Korben expressed regret over the decision, even mentioning Murphy's Law, saying:

“It's a shame to say goodbye to [Satanic] – he was a unique player with youthful enthusiasm but didn't have the opportunity to fully develop because of Murphy's Rule and many other circumstances.”

However, Team Spirit's current roster is definitely very strong. Their next challenge will be the Eastern European closed qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 25, scheduled to begin on January 7.
