The Swiss shooter will become a free agent on January 1, 2025.
rigoN and BIG have advanced to the Qualifiers at Major Shanghai
BIG has announced their separation from Swiss player Rigon "rigoN" Gashi, after six months. He will officially become a free agent early next year.
RigoN's time with BIG encountered many difficulties as he and the German team tried to reconcile different playing styles. "He has a very aggressive playing style, and we really don't need that, but sometimes he brings explosiveness," Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz shared with HLTV after signing with rigoN.
At RMR in Shanghai, Jon "JDC" de Castro once said that rigoN "is trying his best to fit into the system, while we also try to build on his boldness." However, in the end, both sides could not find the necessary chemistry.
Although not always a perfect match, BIG still reached the top 16 at the Shanghai Major, surpassing Passion UA, Virtus.pro, and Complexity, but ultimately fell to HEROIC, G2, and paiN in the Qualifiers. .
Outside of the Major, BIG encountered many difficulties in the second half of 2024, continuously being eliminated in the group stage or play-in at major events. They once reached the finals of ESL Challenger Atlanta, but lost to FlyQuest in the deciding match.
"This has been an emotional and unforgettable journey, but it's time for me to say goodbye," rigoN wrote on X. "This chapter is filled with ups and downs that have shaped me not only as a player but also a human being.
"Together, we tried our best, but unfortunately, things did not go as I expected. I am grateful for the wonderful moments, the support from the team and fans, as well as the opportunity be a part of this place.
"My journey will continue and this will be the start of something bigger. I will come back stronger, sharper, and ready to show what I can really do."
BIG's current lineup:
• Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz
• Florian "syrsoN" Rische
• Jon "JDC" de Castro
• Karim "Krimbo" Moussa
• Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk (coach)
