The new young team will combine German players and talents from all over Europe.

Big officially announced the return of Big Academy - the young training team was dissolved in early 2024. However, this time, the project returned with a special highlight when the German core will have two more foreign soldiers.

Leading this project is Sebastian "Xuyen", who used to play the role of Big's temporary coach after the departure of Alexander "Kakafu" Szymanczyk. He will return to the coach's assistant position, and in charge of developing young talents and operating the Academy team.

The most notable name in the new squad is David "Prosus" Hesse, who used to wear Big Academy for nearly three years (from September 2021 to June 2023) before being promoted to the main team. The 22 -year -old player has been on Big's bench since July 2024, and will now return to play with the youth team.

The squad will be led by Lukas "Freeze" Hegmann, 26, former Xype's former teammate in the Alternate Attax team and is currently the main pillar of Big Academy. The youngest member of the German trio Phillip "W1Dow" Hemke, 18, who also played for Alternate Attax under the guidance of Freeze.

Two foreign soldiers include "xonn1k" Behluli (Kosovo) and DMYTRO "Nayz" Khylchuk (Ukraine). In particular, Xonn1K has only four maps recorded on the HLTV, and now has no official statistics.

"We are rebuilding the CS2 Academy - a traditional project, which has contributed a lot to our success in the past," Mr. Roman "Roman R." Reinhardt, Big's CGO shared. "Academy has always been an important foundation in our Counter-Strike philosophy and will be more central in the long-term development strategy. Our goal is not only to seek talent, but also to train and develop themselves sustainably."

Big affirmed the Academy project will be an important link in the plan to build a "pipeline" training, preparing young forces to be ready to step up the Tier 1 arena. "We are investing to build a structure to help detect, challenge and bring talents to the international arena. This is the spirit of Big - and everything starts from here."

This idea was not new, because Big Academy had been a pedal for many famous players such as Marcel "Hyped" Köhn or Karim "Krimbo" Moussa promoted to the main team.

Big Academy will have a match against Forze Reload at the European Pro League Season 26 at 17:30 on July 3.
