PGL Wallachia Season 2 is about to begin with 16 teams competing for the majority of the $1 million prize pool. Below is all the information you need to know.

PGL Wallachia Season 2 is the first event after TI 2024. This is also the second event in PGL's 3-year plan, including 8 Dota 2 tournaments - each with a total prize of 1 million USD, taking place on different seasons. 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Initially, a total of 10 teams were directly invited to the tournament based on their performance in previous tournaments during the year. The remaining 6 spots are reserved for the teams that win the regional qualifiers. This caused many surprises because the team list was finalized before The International and the transfer after TI.

In the end, 6 teams had to withdraw from the tournament and be replaced. Fans will notice a few interesting things. Defending champion Team Spirit, who won their first title of the year in Season 1, will not participate in the tournament. TI 2024 champion Team Liquid has also withdrawn and there are no representatives from the SEA region. But in return, there are four South American teams and two North American teams!

However, the tournament still takes place with a full squad and teams are trying to win the majority of prizes and show off their new squads.

PGL Wallachia Season 2 competition format:

PGL will host the entire event at their studio in Bucharest, Romania, from October 4 to 13, 2024, without a live audience. 16 teams will start competing in the group stage according to the adjusted "Swiss System" format, including 5 rounds in the BO3 (Best of 3) format.

PGL Wallachia Season 2 group stage:

•The group stage takes place from October 4 to 9, 2024.

•Swiss system of 16 teams.

•All matches are BO3.

•The top 8 teams advance to the playoffs.

•The remaining teams are eliminated.
