TSW won, but VCS audiences were suspicious.
TSW's victory made the VCS community argue
Within the recent LCP Mid Season 2025, Team Secretwhales continued to surprise the domestic and international League of Legends community with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Talon. Worth mentioning, TLN is one of the two teams who participated in the final of the LCP 2025 in the beginning of the season. And this was also the team that defeated all the VCS teams then. However, besides being excited about TSW's victory, many VCS audiences also argue about this achievement.
TSW has a surprise victory against Talon.
Because this is not the first time TSW has won a team from the PCS area. At the tournament earlier this year, TSW lost to TLN, but won against CBTC Flying Oyster - a opponent even stronger than TLN and made Western teams at First Stand sweating with a mutant game based on the players who returned from LPL. TLN themselves are weaker, but they have defeated Tsw last time.
The reason VCS audiences argued because TSW won a team from Taiwan (China) was not new. TSW always owns an unpredictable gameplay with "weird" ban from highly skilled players like Hiro02 or Taki. But soon, they could disappoint VCS audience when confronted with more familiar names, weaker than TLN or CFO, from VCS.
Fan VCS is happy but also difficult to understand.
The audience also expects VCS to do more than just stopping at the level of surprise
The victory of TSW is of course very meaningful as all other victories of the VCS teams in the international arena. However, since they arrived in MSI or Worlds, the VCS teams only stopped at a surprise level, and set the goal almost as low as possible. With a famous League of Legends background for the number of players and enthusiastic audiences, Fan VCS has the right to expect more in the representatives of Vietnamese League of Legends.
VCS audiences need stable and progressive journeys instead of stopping at a surprise level.
However, until now, no name can break through, even if it is eSports and TSW's victories make the audience happy but also regret.
