The future of the Ukrainian gamer once again became uncertain after The journey with Falcons ended early because of failure at Europe RMR.
Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev took to Telegram to announce that he will no longer be with the Falcons. "I'm not joining the Falcons," he declared tersely.
When contacted, the Ukrainian gamer confirmed that he is unlikely to stay beyond his loan period with the Saudi Arabian organization.
This period was expected to last until the end of the year, but s1mple had to leave early after the Falcons failed to qualify for the Shanghai Major. The Falcons were eliminated from Europe RMR A with a 1-3 record on Tuesday, after the lost to FaZe, SAW and GamerLegion.
The team won only one of eight matches with s1mple in the squad, which was the opening match of the Major qualifiers against ECLOT, which ended after extra time. However, the Falcons' struggles began even before s1mple joined, as the team went 1-11 in the final weeks with Álvaro "SunPayus" García.
The decline in form has led many to call for a roster shake-up, and Danny "zonic" Sørensen has made no secret that he has informed the players that there will be changes. “Some players know that they are just the first step in the team's vision, while others will stick around longer,” he shared in late October. “A lot of players know that next year could be other."
The Falcons have yet to make an official announcement about their plans. When questioned, a representative for the organization declined to comment on s1mple's future with the Falcons or their roster.
Currently, the only certainties are Emil "Magisk" Reif's place in the 2025 roster, along with the news of Nikola "NiKo" Kovač joining, something G2 CEO Alban Dechelotte, almost confirmed late last month.
