IEM Cologne 2025 and Blast Bounty Fall 2025 will play on the new update with overpass

ESL and Blast have officially announced to switch to using new updates for the upcoming tournaments, and clarify which events will continue to take place on the old version with Anubis map. This decision marks an important step in updating CS2's meta, when the new patch takes Overpass back to the competition map, replacing Anubis.
Specifically, two IEM Cologne 2025 and Blast Bounty Fall 2025 will take place on a new update with Overpass map, allowing teams to exploit new mechanisms and opportunities for new tactics. Meanwhile, the qualifying round of Blast Rising will still be held on the old version with Anubis. However, Blast's closed qualifiers are expected to take place in early August that will use Overpass and the latest version of the game.

ESL also confirmed that the current qualifying round of the ESL Pro League Season 22 will be completed on the old update with Anubis, despite the change of the competition map. This is to enable teams to complete the season on the familiar platform. However, starting from major tournaments like IEM Cologne, all tournaments will be held on the new version with Overpass.
Thus, ESL and Blast are moving gradually to the new Meta CS2, both creating conditions for players and fans to adapt and set new standards for top tournaments. This move promises to bring more exciting and attractive tournaments, when the teams are forced to quickly adapt to changes in the competition environment.
