This system has been changed to comply with the instructions from VRS.

The ESL Challenger League system and the recently adjusted ESL Pro League qualifier to comply with Valve's tournament organization regulations, after the expiry of the two seasons are allowed to maintain the old format. Accordingly, the roadmap from Esea Advanced to ESL Challenger League will be replaced by two Elite events each season.

Elite events will act as a qualifying round for ESL Challenger League, held twice each season in Europe and North America. These tournaments will start with the open qualifying round, in which the achievement of each team at the Esea League will determine the seed position. The teams will then enter the group stage of 16 teams, with two best teams to win tickets to ECL. These Elite events will be ranked according to VRS.

Esea Advanced will continue to be held in the form of non -ranked prizes, because the teams are automatically transferred from the previous season and gain the performance based on lower achievements. This is not consistent with the instructions of the ranking, capital requires teams to be invited based on achievements in the open qualifiers or VRS rankings.

In return, the championship team of Esea Advanced will win the Dreamhack Knockout, Lan Byoc (bearing his own computer) with a reward that is a capacity to ESL Pro League.

In short, this change means that ECL will be separated from the ESEA solution system (including Open, Entry, Intermediate, Main and Advanced).

As such, ECL will continue to be ranked and still given the ESL Pro League directly, while the remaining tournament system will not be ranked. Advanced champions will compete for EPL's Lan byoc qualifying.
