Blast announced the new schedule, qualifying system and format for the Blast Slam tournament

The Blast Slam tournament will start welcoming the audience directly from the playoffs, starting from the fourth season onwards.

On June 13, Blast - the organizer of the tournament from Denmark - announced a series of important changes for its Dota 2 tournament system. The Blast Slam series will have a new schedule, updated qualifying system, a completely new formula, along with the finals of Lan Lan directly for each season.

After three successful organizations in the form of online since entering Dota 2 in November last year, Blast was upgrading a comprehensive Slam series to meet the increasing expectations of the community.

The tournament is open to the audience directly

The most prominent change is that Blast Slam will allow the audience to directly watch the playoffs round at the studio and the stadium. The first week of the tournament still takes place online, but from the second week, the playoffs will be completely in the form of spreading with the presence of the audience.

New invitation system and qualifying

Instead of 10 teams invited directly as before, the new system will have 12 teams attending, of which only 6 teams are invited. The composition of the teams includes:

• 6 teams are invited
• 1 "Host Region Hero".
• 2 teams passing the European qualifying round
• 1 team from the Chinese qualifier
• 1 team from the SEA qualifier
• A team of American Representative (based on the latest Tier 1 achievement)


Blast Slam qualifying schedule

SEA, China, and European areas will organize open qualifying and closed qualifying rounds. Specific calendar information for 2025:

Blast Slam IV - Singapore

• Open qualifying round 1: 29 - 30/9
• Open qualifying round 2: 1 - 2/10
• Closed qualifying round: 3 - 5/10

Blast Slam V

• Open qualifying round 1: 6 - 7/10
• Open qualifying round 2: 8 - 9/10
• Closed qualifying round: 10 - 12/10

New competition format

Blast Slam will now take place for 2 weeks, including:

Week 1 - Online phase:

• Group stage: Tuesday to Saturday
• Last Chance Playoffs: for 9-12 teams
• Lan play-in: Sunday

Branching according to the group stage results:

• Top 1-2: in the semi-finals
• Top 3-8: Go to the play-in
• Top 9-12: Last Chance Playoffs (2 excellent teams to enter the play-in Lan, the other 2 teams are eliminated)

Week 2 - Lan Playoffs:

• Friday: The quarterfinals BO3
• Saturday: semi -final BO3
• Sunday: Bo5 Final

• Blast Slam IV: October 27 - November 9, 2025 (Singapore Indoor Stadium - Tickets already)
• Blast Slam V: November 25 - December 7, 2025
• Blast Slam VI: 3 - 15/2/2026
• Blast Slam VII: May 26 - June 7, 2026
• Blast Slam VIII: September 29 - October 11, 2026
• Blast Slam IX: 17 - 29/11/2026
