Big kept the squad, promising to change the structure: "We could not exploit the potential"

Big's Gaming Director (CGO) said the structure around the team will be changed after the first half of 2025 disappointed.

Big's Gaming director Roman Reinhardt, and the captain of the Johannes "⁠tabsen⁠" Wodarz shared about the future of the Counter-Strike team in the live broadcast on Tuesday after the first half of 2025 failed.

The team could not pass the group stage in all four major tournaments and ended the early season after not eligible to attend Blast.tv Austin Major, which caused the organization to consider changing before entering the second phase of the season.

Reinhardt affirmed that the current squad will be kept, but there will be many changes in the structure and support department, which alludes that there will be more adjustments of personnel after Alexander "⁠kakafu⁠" SzymanCzyk is replaced by temporary coach Sebastian "⁠xenn⁠" Hoch in March.

"The players will stay, but we need to do a lot to improve the structure and professionalize everything. We still believe in the boys, believe this is the right direction, and will continue to create conditions for them to prove that - but what will certainly change is the surrounding environment, the organization," Reinhardt shared.

CGO did not disclose specific details, citing the reason that the negotiations were taking place and apologized for the lack of transparency. However, he emphasized that the performance will be highly expected in the new structure, and if there is no progress, the change in the squad can still occur.

"If someone cannot integrate with the new structure, then at some point, we will have to make the necessary decision."

Later at the press conference, Tabsen took responsibility for his personal performance, when he only reached an average rating of 0.85 in the last four major tournaments.

"With the way I am playing, I am not affected enough to continue to stay in the team. But I know what I can do - skill, competition thinking, teamwork - I am a great asset of the team with my experience."

This answer until he was asked whether he was willing to give up the role of the captain in the game or not - and he answered definitely:

"I have never told the team that I have to be IGL. I am completely ready to give up this role, because I am a progressive, open person with criticism, and what I really want is to win."
