League of Legends: LCP kicks off its first season on January 17

Eight teams will face off in a brand new tournament with a high level of competition
The year 2025 will witness a major change in the League of Legends (LoL) esports scene in the Asia-Pacific region when the LoL Championship Pacific (LCP) officially kicks off on January 17, 2025. .
LCP is the newest tournament for the Asia-Pacific region, combining the LCO (Oceania), VCS (Vietnam), LJL (Japan) and PCS (Southeast Asia, Hong Kong & Taiwan) tournaments. into a unified tournament. This will be the only path for regional teams to qualify for global events.

LCP brings together a mix of Partner and Guest teams, all aiming to become the first LCP champion. The list of participating teams in 2025 includes:

Most matches in LCP will be played on the latest updated version. However, exceptions will be made for patches released during or immediately before critical periods to ensure fairness.
Promotion and Relegation (P&R) tournament
Following the season finale, the P&R tournament will provide the opportunity for Invited teams to retain their spots in the 2026 LCP. The top two teams in the P&R tournament will be eligible to participate in the 2026 LCP.
Free-for-All (FFA): For the lowest ranked Invited team and teams from the Wild Card qualifiers or domestic tournament.
Regional Merit: Priority is given to Invited teams based on performance and regional representation.
However, Guest teams that qualify for Worlds will be exempt from participating in the P&R tournament.
Season start schedule
LCP's journey will begin with the Season Kickoff, taking place from January 17 to February 23, 2025, to determine the teams that qualify for the first international event of the year, First Stand.
