NRG tasted victory in their first LAN with Jeorge.
NRG won Fragadelphia 18 without losing a single map. This was the first time the North American team attended a LAN event since adding Jeorge "Jeorge" Endicott to the roster, who became their highest rated player at the tournament.
NRG's journey to the championship was easy, with only two of the 10 maps where their opponents achieved double-digit scores. After overcoming underdogs such as Joshua "steel" Nissan's Stand On Business and Undone, NRG overcame their first real challenge by defeating BOSS - a team previously won by Nick "nitr0 " Cannella and his teammates last met in October.
NRG encountered the strongest resistance of their campaign in the winner's bracket finals against the Sharks, who pushed NRG into a difficult position across two maps thanks to a stellar performance from Danilo "doc" Barros. The Sharks then defeated BOSS to advance to the grand finals rematch with NRG, but this time they were overwhelmed by NRG, helping the North American team complete a perfect winning streak.
Jeorge may be NRG's highest-rated player, but the entire team performed excellently. Josh "oSee" Ohm achieved his personal best since the summer, while nitr0 and Jadan "HexT" Postma led the scoreboard in the semifinals and finals, respectively.
Elsewhere at the tournament, Sharks' 22-year-old gunman Doc impressed with an event-high 1.55 rating across 12 maps. Some of his best maps were against the best teams like BOSS and Nouns.
Doc's highlight was a great performance in a 13-10 win over Nouns on the Mirage map, where he recorded 31 kills, 138 ADR and a 2.14 rating in just 26 rounds.
The final rankings at Fragadelphia 18 are as follows:
