VGVD TOURNAMENT CHALLENGE CUP 2024 OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED: NEW LOOK, NEW FORMAT, FIRST BO9 APPEARANCE!

Similar to last year, the Fake Challenge Cup will serve as an off-season tournament for the KPL region, but this year there will be more teams participating and a completely new look with a new logo and the Divine Tiger trophy!
1️⃣ Participating teams: 24 teams
• KPL: 12 teams (KSG, AG, DRG, TTG, eStar, TCG, RW, Wolves, WB, LGD.NBW, WE, EDG.M)
• KGL: 4 teams (KLG, Q9, MD, MTG)
• NTL [National League]: 3 teams
• KSL [Streamer League]: 4 teams
• KYT [Youth Training Tournament]: 1 team - 10 young players
2️⃣ Format:
⭐ Group stage (December 7-22):
• 24 teams are divided into 4 groups, playing BO3 round robin with points, applying the Fake Challenge's Blessing mechanism(*)
• The top 4 teams in each group advance to the Playoffs
☄️Challenger's Blessing:
[League order: KPL > KGL > NTL = KYT > KSL]
When two teams of different orders meet, the team with the lower order has the right to choose 2 generals before the match, and the team with the higher order will not be able to choose those 2 generals during the pick and ban phase.
⭐ Playoffs round (December 26 - January 5, 2025):
• 16 teams compete in Knockout competition, with teams from the same group facing each other in rounds 1 & 2.
• Matches will take place in BO7 format + Global Pick and Ban + Summit Battle
• The 2 best teams will be in the Finals
⭐ Final (January 11, 2025): For the first time in history, BO9 OFFICIALLY IS USED in the Final, still applying the Global Pick and Ban rule and the Summit Battle in the deciding game 9.
(Fun Fact: The next day, January 12 is the VGVD 2024 Annual Awards Ceremony)

3️⃣ Prize money: 3,500,000 yuan (nearly 12.3 billion dong), of which the champion will receive 1,200,000 yuan (~ 4.2 billion dong) and a custom FMVP skin

With its harsh format, the 2025 Mock Challenge Cup promises to bring a new breeze to the KPL region this December! 💥
